Seems strange that there are none from what I can see. The main YLE website still uses Flash which isn't viewable on iPhones and iPads !Giovannihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16496804040880681930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-269693591087704863.post-11891710229437675962012-08-25T10:56:48.594+03:002012-08-25T10:56:48.594+03:00I agree with Aart-Jan :)I agree with Aart-Jan :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-269693591087704863.post-62543345753653978172012-08-22T11:43:25.801+03:002012-08-22T11:43:25.801+03:00I wish the subtitles would actually be in Dutch :)...I wish the subtitles would actually be in Dutch :)Aart-Jan Riekhoffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06513749868103008033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-269693591087704863.post-52355125218149497972012-08-20T12:08:48.055+03:002012-08-20T12:08:48.055+03:00Using Dutch is just an arbitrary choice by Yle.
AF...Using Dutch is just an arbitrary choice by Yle.<br />AFAIK the DVB standard used for digital TV only allows simple language selection based on predetermined (numerical) language codes. So, as most programmes are subtitled only when needed by Finnish (or Swedish) speakers, the only way to specify full-time subtitles is to pick another language for it.<br /><br />If Finland dubbed all its programmes (a bad choice IMO), this would be more logical.<br /><br />Oh, some channels also send synthetic, machine-read subtitles (<a href="http://yle.fi/tekniikka/?ID=268&group=268" rel="nofollow"><i>äänitekstitys</i></a>). Again, Dutch is used, but this time it's the audio selection.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
