Kela benefits for families in Finland

Ennen lapsen syntymää tai adoptiota - Before the child is born or adopted

• äitiysavustus  - maternity grant 
• äitiyspakkaus tai rahaa -  maternity package or money
• vanhempainpäivärahat - parental allowances (an umbrella term for all other allowances) 
• raskausraha  - pregnancy allowance
• erityisraskausraha - special pregnancy allowance 
• vanhempainraha  - parental allowance
• vanhempainraha osittaisena - partial parental allowance

Syntymän tai adoption jälkeen - After the birth or adoption

• isyysraha  - paternity allowance
• vanhempainraha - parental allowance 
• lapsilisä - child benefit
• Jos lapsi sairastuu - If a child gets ill

Lapsen hoito - Child care

• kotihoidon tuki - child home care allowance
• joustava hoitoraha - flexible care allowance
• yksityisen hoidon tuki - private day care allowance

Kun lapsi aloittanut koulun - When the child has started school

• osittainen hoitoraha - partial care allowance
