Six easy Finnish books for adult readers

One of my students has lived and worked in Finland since 2018. He started studying Finnish in 2016, and read his first novel in easy Finnish last November. Now he is happily reading his first book written in standard Finnish.

These are the six books that he read in easy Finnish:

  1. Nadja Sumanen / Riikka Tuohimetsä: Rambo
  2. Tuija Hannula: Toppatakin alla on sydän
  3. Jasu Rinneoja: Kauno ja Sutki
  4. Pertti Rajala: Sata totuutta Suomesta
  5. Kari Hotakainen / Hanna Männikkölahti: Tuntematon Kimi Räikkönen
  6. Seija Niinistö-Salmela: Mitä on energia?

What is he reading now? Northug - Minun tarinani by Jonas Forsang. The most important thing is that you are super interested in the subject. Then it doesn't bother so much that you don't probably understand everything.

How many easy Finnish books have you read? If you are already reading standard Finnish books, which easy Finnish books did you read before that? Please leave a comment and share your book tips! :)
