In spoken language, kiitos is often kiitti.
The four important forms are kiittää, kiitän, kiitin and kiittänyt.

This is one of my favourite things in Jyväskylä, and I do it in other towns, too: when people step out of the bus, they say (or shout, since they are quite far in the middle of the bus) a loud kiitos to the bus driver.

- Kiitos, kun pysähdyit. - Thanks for stopping.
- Kiitos matkaseurasta. - Thanks for the travel company (to the other passengers).

Hyvä kysymys! Yleensä seuraava sana ei ole verbi. 'Kiitos kysymästä' on poikkeus, ja siinäkin on tosi kummallinen muoto.:)
Kiitos, kun autoit. (= Kiitos avusta.) Kiitos, kun tulit. Kiitos, kun siivosit. Kiitos, kun olet täällä. Kiitos, että kerroit sen minulle. Kiitos, että huomasit.
Esim:kiitos kuuntelemista, kun on verbi,käyttää 4.infinitiivi. Onko totta? :)
Joo, sun pitää tehdä verbistä substantiivi: kuunnella > kuunteleminen > Kiitos kuuntelemisesta. (= Kiitos, kun kuuntelit.)
So, should I write "Kiitos, *että* kirjoitat tätä blogia" or "Kiitos, *kun* kirjoitat tätä blogia", or both? :) (or none, if I my translation is wrong).
I'm a bit puzzled by the word "kun", it seems to have many uses.
I'd say that both are correct. For some reason, 'kun' feels a bit better, but I cannot explain why. I'll try to find some explanation, or perhaps my super intelligent friends and colleagues can comment on this.:)

It already good to know both are correct, I was afraid there was some obscure exceptions for either että or kun.
I think every language has expressions when one thing can be said in two ways, and it's sometimes hard to explain.
