Tehdä is a tricky verb as it doesn't follow any of the regular verb type patterns. The meaning is either to do or to make.
Everyday sentences with tehdä:
- Mitä sinä teet? - What are you doing/making?
- Mitä sä haluaisit tehdä? - What would you like to do?
- Kato, mitä mä tein! - Look what I did /made!
- Mitä te olette tehneet tänään? - What have you done today?
- Tehdään pannukakkua! - Let's make oven pancake!
The basic form looks like verb type 2, but the rest of the conjugation has elements from both verb type 1 and verb type 3. The four useful verb forms are tehdä, teen, tein and tehnyt.
Present tense conjugation of tehdä:
- Minä teen - Minä en tee
- Sinä teet - Sinä et tee
- Hän tekee - Hän ei tee
- Me teemme - Me emme tee
- Te teette - Te ette tee
- He tekevät - He eivät tee
Past tense conjugation of tehdä:
- Minä tein - Minä en tehnyt
- Sinä teit - Sinä et tehnyt
- Hän teki - Hän ei tehnyt
- Me teimme - Me emme tehneet
- Te teitte - Te ette tehneet
- He tekivät - He eivät tehneet

Is there any explanation why tehdä conjugates so exceptionally?
It's just one of only a very few irregular verbs in Finnish. I can think of only two others at the moment:
'nähdä' (to see) - näen, näki, nähnyt
'olla' (to be) - olen, oli, ollut (quite regular, actually) BUT!
3rd person present tense is different:
Hän on (not olee), He ovat (not olevat).
Wiktionary groups tehdä with nähdä and says: "The inflectional stem used for some forms replaces the -h- with -ke-, the k being subject to consonant gradation.", which somewhat makes sense of the conjugation.
