Causative verbs in Finnish

In short, causative verbs express causing what the root verb means. For example pierrä is to fart in general, and pierettää is to cause farting, to make fart.

  • En voi juoda maitoa. Se pierettää minua. - I cannot drink milk. It makes me fart.
  • Älä liikuta sun päätä! - Don't move your head!

What about higher order curative verbs such as tehdä - teettää - teetätyttää - teetätytättää - teetätytätyttää ...

Oppilas luki kirjan.
Opettaja luetti kirjan oppilailla.
Rehtori luetutti kirjan oppilailla.
Kouluhallitus luetatutti kirjan oppilailla.

The last one is already hard to understand but this could go on even further.

However, some Finns do not use these verb forms or even acknowledge their existance.
